About this event

  • 1 hour

‘Life Wasn’t Boring’ was intended be Colin’s military memoir, in fact, it is a social history of life in the Army, set against a backdrop of the Cold War; the withdrawal from empire (Aden); and the ‘troubles’ in Northern Ireland. The book also has humour, even recording some minor calamities with the ‘Royals’. It covers not only Colin’s exploits as a soldier, but the impacts they had on him, on his wife (for instance, she moved house 19 times in 27 years) and on their two sons.

With the help of a friendly interviewer, Sue and Colin will share separate viewpoints to convince you that their ‘Life Wasn’t Boring’.
