LifeLab have turned the hugely popular 'Medics Summer School' for students interested in becoming a Doctor into a virtual experience

About this Event

Find out what's involved in training to become a doctor with our Medics Summer School online, featuring a combination of live sessions and webinars, self-directed learning and live Q&A with doctors, medical students and admissions experts. Suitable for students aged 14-17 the 2 day programme includes:

Thursday 23rd July:

10:00 – Introductions and guide to the course (live via Zoom)

10:30 – Cardio and respiratory anatomy (live via Zoom)11:00 – Interactive workshop with Dr Aiman Alzetani, including videos of heart and lung surgery and Q&A session (live via Zoom)

Clinical Skills/Anatomy sessions (online, self-directed)Trauma Simulation (online, self-directed)Careers Interviews (online, self-directed)Communication skills for Medicine (online, self-directed)

Friday 24th July:AM

10:00 – Introduction to the day and reflection on day 1 (live via Zoom)

13:00 – Medical School Admissions Webinar with Dr Sally Curtis (live via Zoom)

13:45 – Q&A with current University of Southampton Medical Students (live via Zoom)
