Event: Light Technical Sparring

Venue: Tao Dragons Dojo, LittlehamptonDate: October 4, 2025 at 2:00 PM (Europe/London)

Come join us for a relaxed and enjoyable session of light-contact sparring at Tao Dragons dojo in Littlehampton! Suitable for both beginners and experienced martial artists, this event is all about practicing techniques, trying out different rulesets, and having fun in a supportive environment.

We’ll explore point fighting, traditional above-the-waist kickboxing, and low-kick kickboxing - based loosely on WAKO rules and adapted to what participants want to work on during the day. It’s a great chance to spar with new people, learn fresh approaches, and build your skills in a friendly, casual setting.

Perfect for practitioners of karate, taekwondo, choi kwon do, kung fu, traditional kickboxing, and any striking art looking to test techniques in a safe, welcoming space. Don’t miss this opportunity to train, connect, and grow with fellow martial arts enthusiasts.

What to bring on the day

Please bring your usual sparring gear—shin guards, gloves, mouthguard, head guard, etc. I’ll have a few spare pieces available, but I can’t guarantee enough for everyone, so bringing your own kit is strongly recommended. Bottle of water.

Agenda (approx. 1.5 hours)

  • Get moving: A relaxed introduction and warm-up to shake things out
  • Mix it up: Open rounds of sparring and drills, rotating partners with plenty of breaks
  • Try it out: A couple of rounds under each ruleset, just to keep things interesting
  • Keep it movin': More open sparring with time to practice what you like
  • Cool down & connect: A chance to chat, share tips, and make new friends

No pressure to spar non-stop—take breaks whenever you need, watch others, or just enjoy the atmosphere.
