Event description
An evening of remembrance & reflection, to shine a light on the lives of the special people we love who are no longer with us

About this event

Doors open 6pm , service starts at 7pm

Light up a Life is a Christmas remembrance service, hosted by St Oswald's Hospice Spiritual Care Lead, Davina Radford. It is the first year the service has taken place at Gosforth Civic Theatre, just a stones throw from the hospice .

Everyone is welcome to join in, whether or not you have a connection to St Oswald's. There will be a mix of music, refection and readings and the service will culminate in the switching on of the Christmas tree lights, each one sparkling in memory of someone special.

Light up a Life is free to attend and suitable for the whole family. Refreshments and gifts will be available to purchase before the service.

You can also choose to dedicate a light on the hospice Christmas tree in memory of a loved one by making a donation to St Oswald's. Visit www.stoswaldsuk.org/light-up-a-life to make your dedication.

PLEASE NOTE:

Please ensure you book the correct date as we have two services happening on consecutive days, Sunday 12th and Monday 13th December.

Please book an accessible ticket for any members of your party who use a wheelchair.

Organiser St Oswald's Hospice Ltd

Organiser of Light up a Life Celebration Event

We’re a charitable hospice rooted in the North East. We provide outstanding, specialist and expert care to adults and children with life-limiting conditions. We strive to provide quality time for everyone.

To enable us to provide these vital services free of charge to the local community  we need to raise £7.5 million of this through voluntary giving. We rely on the incredible support, effort and generosity of our wonderful supporters in order to be able to do this. Thank you.

Our Vision is:

Together, we will make the most of time and improve quality of life for everyone in the North East living with an incurable condition, and their families.

Together, with the vital support of our staff, volunteers, donors and supporters, we will continue to develop and grow our services so that everyone in our region gets expert, dignified and compassionate care when they need it.
