About this event

Create hope through action as we Light Up for Hope on World Mental Health Day

Come help us create a display of lanterns - one for each of the suicide deaths registered in West Yorkshire in 2024 - to show your support for suicide prevention, remember those lost, and stand in solidarity with survivors of suicide.

Our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.

This will be an informal event with opportunities to connect with others - however, there is no pressure to speak to others unless you want to. Members of the Healthy Minds team will be available if you need to chat.

Drop-in to help us create our lanterns any time from 5pm, but please make sure you arrive before 5.45 pm to allow for an interruption-free presentation, lighting ceremony and reflection time. We are also creating a Remembrance Video that will be shown at the event - if you'd like to recognise a loved one, please send your photos, videos and/or messages to Georgia (georgia@healthymindscalderdale.co.uk) by Tuesday Sept 9.

Tickets:

Please note this is a completely FREE event, but donations are welcome on the evening. Your contributions help us continue to be there for those that need us most, and make a difference for mental health in Calderdale.

Getting There:Please see the map below - we will be inside the main entrance, through Reception to Crossley Gallery. A member of staff will be available at the entrance to help direct you. Parking is free in the lot from 5 pm.

Organized by

At Healthy Minds, we want everyone in Calderdale to have better mental health.

To make our vision a reality, we:

  • provide high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in Calderdale.
  • promote awareness and reduce stigma by partnering with local organisations and
  • listen to our community and speak up for positive change.

You don't need a mental health diagnosis, referral from a GP or already be experiencing poor mental health to access our support.
