Lighting Workshop

Come join our Lighting Workshop and take your photography skills to the next level! This hands-on event focuses on each attendee acquiring a very thorough understanding of both the theory behind and the practice of lighting in photography and cinematography.

We’ll be exploring multiple two-light setups to obtain a large variety of lighting solutions. The number of lights is purposefully restricted to two, so as to focus on fundamental lighting principles and demonstrate the power and flexibility of working with just two light sources.

Additional topics that will be covered include:

· the inverse square law and general lighting theory;

· camera and flash operation;

· lens choice and perspective;

· effects of shutter speed and aperture;

· flash versus continuous lighting;

· light placement and stands;

· the influence of lighting modifiers;

· the use of scrims, reflectors and flags.

The course will be held at Westminster Kingsway College’s brand-new Mosaic Soho facility over a single day (from 12 pm to 6 pm) with a lunch break of one hour.

Please note that there is a minimum number of attendees required in order for the event to take place.
