LightNight @ The Studio: Gaming Through Time
Fri 19 May 2017, 18:00 – 20:00 BST
The Gaming Dungeon is situated in The Studio, Liverpool’s creative media, gaming and digital technology school for 14-19 year olds in the Merseyside region.
Inspired by the number of retro games that came out of the city, the school curated the world’s first interactive, educational, retro gaming museum. The interactive, playable exhibition is home to many consoles of the past including the Commodore 64 to a ZX Spectrum and a Ninentendo Entertainment System, moving towards modern day with consoles such as the Dreamcast and Playstation 1.
Many of the games playable in the Dungeon have connections to Liverpool and many of the school’s partners have donated art and games to fill the space including a series of Bob Wakelin signed screen prints.
Currently students use the space on their lunchtimes or after school to immerse themselves in the world of gaming history, but for one night only we are opening it up to the Liverpool public.
