About this event

After its previous sold-out show in late 2024, the North East’s hottest choir is back with its biggest, most exciting and most ROCKIN’ show yet... Lights Up, Sound On!

To date, the choir has performed at a huge variety of festivals, shows, events and tours, including backing Take That (alongside Lulu) at Arena Birmingham and Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium in front of sell-out crowds of 15,000 and 30,000+, respectively.

It also wowed audiences and showed off its versatility while performing on tour dates with stars from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, with renowned UK tenor Russell Watson and vocal group G4.

The tour opportunities kept on coming and in 2023 the group performed live on The Joe Marler UK tour, playing a host of renowned theatres in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and, at the iconic, London Palladium.

Aside from stages, the choir has performed live on both BBC Radio Newcastle’s Drive Time and Breakfast shows while VOTT has also performed as part of Mary Berry’s 2023 BBC One Christmas Special, which aired across the UK and United States.

And now, featuring fantastic songs from Soul/Funk, Gospel, RnB, Dance and Pop/Rock with stunning, powerful harmonies, original and exciting vocal arrangements and foot-stomping grooves, Newcastle’s funkiest, most high-energy choir brings its latest, powerhouse, must-see show.

With some of the region’s very best musicians accompanying live, as well as a top support act to open the show, all that’s left is to get your tickets, come on down and get ready for Lights Up, Sound On!

Voice of the Town is a contemporary choir which performs some of the very best material from popular music. Through exciting and bespoke arrangements consisting of powerful, punchy lines to those with lush, warm and moodier harmonies, this vocal group showcase songs from Soul, Gospel, RnB, Latin/Jazz, Pop and Rock genres.

To date, VOTT have appeared on BBC television, with Take That (and Lulu) on 8 of their UK Greatest Hits tour dates, as part of the pro UK tour of Godspell, at some of the UK's most renowned festivals and events, recorded a charity single with a Britain’s Got Talent winner, backed artists such as Russell Watson, G4 and toured with stars of Strictly Come Dancing at some of the UK’s most iconic venues.
