Event description
The Godmother - Written by Elaine Pritchard. Performed at The Trinity, Burton on Trent by StageScreen students on 9th & 10th December 2021

About this event

The Godmother will be staged at The Trinity, George Street, Burton-on-Trent, DE14 1DP, on Thursday December 9 and Friday December 10.

Doors will open from 6pm each night enabling you to get a hot, cold or alcoholic drink from the bar before the show starts at 7pm. Running time is approximately two hours including an interval. The bar will stay open after the show if you want to linger longer and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.

As The Trinity is not a traditional theatre venue and has not staged an event like this before, we have seats available in different parts of the building, which are described below. We would ask you to choose the AREA where you would like to sit. We will allocate specific seats to you in your chosen area and on the night there will be volunteers to direct you to your seats. There are toilets downstairs but none upstairs.

We are anticipating heavy demand for seats and will do our best to accommodate all requests for specific areas. Don’t delay as we expect this show to sell out quickly.

UPSTAIRS

Balcony seats – 26 available each night. PLEASE NOTE the only access to the balcony is by the original, Victorian church staircase and there are no toilets upstairs, Do NOT book these seats if you have any mobility issues or if you have young children in your party. The seats are available in three rows of six seats plus two blocks of four. If you choose this area, we will allocate seats in the order requests are received, starting with the best views, which are on the front rows, and working backwards. Price £15.00

DOWNSTAIRS

Front stalls – 20 available each night. The performance area runs across the width of the building with a T-shaped raised stage extending eight feet into the audience via a low catwalk. There are 10 seats on each side of this catwalk (in two rows of five). They face the catwalk. Price £12.00

Back stalls – 67 available each night. The bulk of the seating downstairs is in seven rows of seating that face the performance area head-on. The number of seats in each row alternates between nine and 10 seats to maximise the view. Price £12.00

Restricted view – Eight available each night. In order to allow as many people as possible to watch this unique production, we are also making eight seats available each night on a fixed wooden pew (remaining from the original church) and positioned at the back of the ground floor. There is no-one behind you so you would be able to stand up, but the raised performance area should allow you to see most of the action from your seat. This is reflected in the reduced price. We would recommend bringing cushions to sit on as this is a hard wooden bench. Price £10
