Lincoln Bra Lady and Breast Cancer Awareness
Thu 20 April 2017, 17:30 – 20:30 BST
Business Women’s Link (BWL) today announced a “double bill” networking event for ladies, designed to help them to take care of their bodies.
On April 20, BWL will be welcoming Lincoln Bra Lady Claire Woodall and Beth Driver of Macmillan to speak at its meeting at Langleys Solicitors, off Doddington Road, Lincoln at 5.30pm.
Claire will be talking about how choosing the right lingerie can increase a woman’s confidence and make a huge difference to her overall appearance, and Macmillan’s speaker will be focusing on breast cancer awareness.
Claire, whose shop is based in North Hykeham, has been fitting ladies with the right support for the past four years.
“I was inspired to make my move whilst working self-employed as remedial therapist. When I was doing sports massage, I treated a lot of large-busted ladies who often complained of neck, shoulder and back problems,” she said.
“Whilst massage helped, it was encouraging them to be fitted properly for the right-sized undergarment which often made a world of difference to the way in which they felt and looked.”
After spotting an opportunity to help them, Claire went on to do a professional, independent bra-fitting course, followed by other courses run by individual lingerie brands and soon found herself in demand to do more fitting than massaging!
Her business has since gone from strength-to-strength and last year she won a national Excellence and Achievement Award at the Stars Underlines Best Shop Awards, which were presented in London.
BWL Chair Jo Richardson said: “We’re delighted to announce our “double bill” networking event, which we believe will be of interest and value to all women and we welcome both members and guests to join us.”
