The Lincolnshire Scouts Heat of the Honda RYA Youth RIB Championship is the local event to select two representatives (one in each age group) to represent Lincolnshire Scouts at the Area Final.
Each session will be approximately 2 hours long, the first hour will be an introduction to the boat and practice in small groups followed by timed runs in the second hour.
No Experience Necessary
Registration collects all information to enable use to pre-populate all the paperwork for you to sign on the day.
The presentation of certificates and prizes will follow the last participant of the day, these will also be emailed out to all participants so that you don't need to stay until the end.
Details of any other activities available to participate in at Girton Sailing Club on the day of the event will be circulated once finalised.
The RYA (Royal Yachting Association), through its affiliated clubs, organisations and training centres will again run a National Championship in Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) for juniors/youths. Clubs, organisations and training centres wishing to participate hold local heats, at their premises, to determine who they put forward to the Midlands Area Final on 1st July 2017 at Staunton Harold Sailing Club. There are 13 Area Finals and the winner in each age group (8-12 years and 13-16 years) takes part in the National Final held at the Southampton Boat Show on 17th September 2017. By taking part in the Championship I accept responsibility for exposing myself to such inherent risk. I agree to comply at all times with the instructions of the supervisor in the boat, particularly with regard to the handling of the boat, the wearing of my buoyancy aid, and the wearing of suitable clothing for the conditions.
I understand that the organisers may cancel the event at any time in the event of bad weather or if any of the equipment becomes unfit for use in such a way as to make the event dangerous for participants.
I accept responsibility for any injury, damage or loss to the extent caused by my own negligence.
I agree not to participate in the event whilst my ability to drive a boat is impaired by alcohol, drugs or whilst otherwise unfit to participate.
