About this Event

PLEASE JOIN THE #LINKEDINLOCAL MAILING LIST TO GET NEWS ABOUT FUTURE DATES AND VENUES

Welcome to the #BristolLinkedInLocal. The #LinkedInLocal movement is an idea that started in New Zealand in 2017 by Anna McAfee and has caught peoples' imaginations.

The idea is very simply to put the social back into social media, to meet the person behind the LinkedIn profile. It's a great way to meet with existing and new connections in an informal business context. Bring your business card but leave your pitch at home.

The Venue

Our hosts this time are the Bristol Old Vic. The Old Vic is a fabulous venue, did you know it is the oldest continuously working theatre in the English speaking world? It's also a wedding and event hire venue, and a heritage destination.

Last September the front of house underwent a major refurbishment. If you haven't seen the new design you will be wowed.

Empire Fighting Chance

This month ticket proceeds will be supporting Empire Fighting Chance, a local boxing based charity that works with young people who might otherwise be difficult to reach - to give them a fighting chance to succeed. As well as sports coaching the charity provides mentoring, career advice and school outreach.

Check the video below created for Empire Fighting Chance by some more local heroes Aardman Animations.

Our Speaker

The talk this time will take the form of an interview with Empire Fighting Chance Co-Founder, Martin Bisp who will share the remarkable and inspiring story of how the charity began and where it is going.

We also want to tell you about a unique Bristol event which is happening in October which will open your eyes to parts of Bristol you never knew existed.

Where possible we encourage people to use public transport, bikes or walking. If you need to bring your car you can park in Queen Square, there is also Trenchard Street and Mud Dock car parks nearby.
