About this Event

A LinkedIn report dated September 2018 highlighted that 61 million LinkedIn users are senior level influencers and 40 million users are in decision-making positions. LinkedIn is an incredibly valuable tool for networking and business development and learning how to use it correctly is a key ingredient to success.

Stacy Edghill is an avid user of LinkedIn, having built a solid connection base and successfully gained business from her effective use of the platform. She has over 25 years’ experience in sales and business development and in the last 10 years in particular LinkedIn has played an integral part in Stacy successfully generating contacts, leads and sales and she is now passing on that expertise to other business professionals.

The course will encompass setting up your profile for optimal results, including keywords to help you be found, and will include time for this to be done there and then with Stacy’s help. You will also have your headshot taken by a professional photographer in the morning thus ensuring that by the end of the course you have an optimal ready-to-go profile, not just pointers to go home and do it.

By the end of this course you will also have an overall understanding of the following:

Is the course for companies or individuals?

The general course, which anyone can book onto, is for individuals. If a company has a few employees they are interested in sending on the course then it’s worth having a word about booking a separate date. For a company the course will be tailored slightly to include anything specific from the company as well as working within their own social media policy.

Who is the course aimed at?

The course is ideally suited to anyone in a sales/BD role or business owners/directors who want to raise their own personal brand awareness and increase their business.

I want to know how to increase business through my company page – is this covered?

No, this course is for an individual to raise their own brand awareness, as well as gain business – be that if they work for themselves or a company. We will look to do workshops for companies in the near future, but in the meantime if you need help with your company page then please speak to one of our team to discuss the options available.

Do I need to have a LinkedIn page to join the course?

By the end of the course you will have an optimal profile page, whether that’s setting it up from scratch or tweaking what you already have. If you are able to set one up, even without any information, before you arrive it will save a few minutes, but isn’t necessary.

What will I need to bring with me?

You will need an internet enabled laptop (or tablet, but laptop is better). Also your smartphone (if you have one), with the LinkedIn app installed. If you don’t have the information already to hand then if you can look out your past work history – places, position, dates (minimum) and courses, training, awards or memorable info that is relevant as well.

Why do I need my laptop and phone?

The course includes a practical element which is setting up /tweaking your profile page correctly and writing an effective post so you will need your laptop for this. Some things are slightly different on your phone and the course covers it so having it ready with LinkedIn installed will enable you to be shown these.

How often will I have to use LinkedIn to get the results?

That all depends on what you want to get out of it, but the course will equip you with the knowhow to use it with ease. As a general rule of thumb we say to post something weekly minimum and logon daily to have a look at what’s going on in your feed. You can get results with just half an hour a week – once you know how to use it.

I don’t want/need a profile photo – do I have to have it taken?

No, you don’t have to have one taken, and if you do you don’t even have to use it. It won’t affect your cost, however so it would be worth at least having it taken. Our photographer is experienced in taking professional headshots for social media though so it will be suitable for your LinkedIn profile.

I already have a profile photo, why do I need a new one?

Again, you don’t have to take it and if yours is a professional one you may not need it. However, if your current photo is of you on a night out (for example) then it would be worth having a new one.

Will I need a Premium Account to join the course?

No, our trainer, Stacy, has gotten results from using the basic free version of LinkedIn and will impart her knowledge for you to do the same. During the course she will point out some of the differences between the free and premium versions so if you wanted to upgrade at a later point you will have the information required to make an informed decision.

Is the course for beginners, experienced, or somewhere in-between?

All levels should get something out of it. If you are an advanced user already then a lot of it you may already know. However, if you have been using it and not seen any results then it’s worth attending to get another perspective.

I know how to post, like, comment, share – why should I attend this course?

The course covers not just how to do all this, but what, when, why, and the difference between each method and what you are likely to get back in return. It focuses on the engagement process to help you build a following and get results. Understanding the difference and what works, what doesn’t etc… will enable you to use it effectively.

What does the fee cover?

The fee you pay, as well as the knowledge you will gain, and ready-made optimal profile by the end of the day, also includes tea/coffee and lunch, as well as a professional profile photo.
