Dive into the tactile world of relief printmaking at Something Good Workshops in Deptford, London, with our Lino Block Printing Workshop—a hands-on, beginner-friendly creative session where you carve, ink, and print your own designs.
This is a wonderfully mindful and immersive 3-hour workshop designed for all skill levels. You’ll start by exploring approaches to designing lino blocks—whether you're drawn to bold shapes, repeat patterns, abstract motifs, or delicate textures, we'll help you shape your vision into a printable design. Then, under friendly guidance, you'll learn safe lino cutting techniques, practise carving with confidence, and transfer your idea to the medium.
Each guest will carve two 7.5 × 7.5 cm lino blocks, with guided support from start to finish. Once your blocks are ready, it's time to print! You’ll experiment with colour mixes of your choice, print on newsprint before moving to a 56 × 76 cm sheet of 250 gsm Fabriano paper, and watch your designs come to life.
At the end of the class, you'll take home your carved lino blocks, the prints you've made, plus a handy instruction pamphlet to guide your future creative adventures—perfect for replicating your designs on paper, fabric, bunting, or beyond.
Located in a cosy creative hub with a licensed bar, you’re welcome to unwind with a drink as you craft. We also run a wide range of creative workshops in Deptford, from knitting and cyanotype to collage and painting—making this a great way to explore our vibrant creative community.
Planning a special night out or creative group hang? We host private bookings, creative parties, hen dos, and corporate workshops tailored just for you.
