About the Workshops:

The workshops start at 6.30pm, feel free to show up a bit earlier to get settled and get a head start or to browse our printing books/resources if you need some inpiration.

We'll start by sharing some basic techniques and give you plenty of time to play around and experiment before you begin working on your unique design.

Whether you're eager to create your own cards or fancy printing a piece to brighten up your home, this workshop is designed with your creative journey in mind.

What you need to bring:

Your ticket includes all the materials you'll need for the workshop, so there's no need to worry about supplies, all you need to bring is your creative inspiration. You're also welcomed to bring your own drinks or snacks.

What you get to take home:

You get to take home a couple of paper prints - we have loads of paper colours for you to choose from; your carved lino block so you can re-use it at home or bring back to a future workshop to make more prints; and depending on which day you attend we might have a special item for you to print like a notebook, a T-shirt or a tote bag. If you'd like to know what the special item for the next workshop is just message us on instagram.

Some tips:

To ensure a smooth process and timely completion, please consider bringing along a few ideas for your artwork. You can either save images on your phone or, even better, bring a printed or sketched reference from home. Having a reference in the correct size will allow you more time to carve your linocut and proceed with printing.

If you're coming up empty on ideas, no problem at all! We're here to help you. We can brainstorm and collaborate to craft something fantastic right on the spot during the workshop.

The space:

We'll be running the workshop from the lovely coworking space of the West Beach Hotel

Frequently asked questions

What should I bring to the workshop?

All materials needed for the workshop will be provided, including lino, paper, and printing inks. You just need to bring any ideas or inspirations for your artwork and ideally an A6/A5 sketch or what you want to print.

I'm a complete beginner. Is this workshop suitable for me?

Absolutely! This workshop is designed to be welcoming and easy-going, making it perfect for beginners. You'll learn basic lino printing techniques and have plenty of time to experiment and create your masterpiece with guidance and support.

What does A6 or A5 mean?

Regular printer paper is A4 (29cmx21cm / 8.3" x 11.7"), folding A4 in half gives you A5, and folding A5 in half results in A6.

How many prints do I get to make

We encourage everyone to make at least 3 prints, some people do less, others do more. This is limited mostly due to time constraints as we need to give everyone a chance to make some prints.

Is there a minimum age requirement to participate?

Participants should be 18 years or older, or accompanied by an adult if younger. Please contact us if you have specific questions regarding age suitability.

Can I get drinks or snacks during the workshop?

You can get coffee, tea or snacks from the reception area. You're also welcome to bring your own drinks.
