Event description

Description

The LIS AGM will be held on the evening of Wednesday the 26th of April in the Hunter Lecture Theatre at Edinburgh College of Art between 6-9.30pm. The programme for the evening can be viewed here.

Before the AGM there will be a celebration of the life and work of the late Mark Turnbull followed by the presentation of the Landscape Institute’s Gold Medal Award by President, Merrick Denton-Thompson to Sharon Turnbull.

Mark was a visionary and early pioneer of the use of digital technology in Landscape Architecture that has paved the way for the techniques we use today. From his mysterious early work for the American government, that is still classified, to his influence on the development of Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment Guidelines – there will be an opportunity to learn about the man and his work from colleagues, clients and friends. Please join us for the evening.

We also would encourage all members to become involved in the Landscape Institute Scotland which has enormous benefits in terms of advocacy and CPD, and the AGM is your opportunity for this. If you are interested in a position on the committee, whether as an ordinary committee member or through one of the honorary committee roles, we invite you to look through the description of the work of the LIS and these roles. Please contact us with your nominations by 19.04.2017 at the email address below to ensure time, as required, for any elections on the night and to inform the membership of your candidacy.
