About this event

Lisel Haas was a German-Jewish photographer who settled in Birmingham in 1938. Since then, her works have been fairly unknown, until Bertz Associates' 'Discovering Lisel Haas' project which has began the work of cataloguing her works held in archival storage at the Library of Birmingham.

As part of Birmingham Heritage Week, this event will give an introduction to Haas' life and works. There will be an opportunity to see reproductions of her photography and other archival material stored at the Library of Birmingham. There will also be a panel discussion with the researchers of the project where they will discuss their process and findings, with an opportunity for the audience to discuss the project's next steps and what they would like to see in future research.

This event will take place at the Library of Birmingham's Heritage Learning Space on the 4th floor.
