Bridging the Digital Divide

BNSSG CCG is hosting a Listening Event to improve the health and care system's understanding of the communication needs and online barriers faced by some of the seldom heard communities that we serve. This event is aimed at commissioners, providers, VCSE and community partners and stakeholders in the Bristol, North Somerset & South Gloucestershire areas.

The digital and social divide impacts many communities including people with learning difficulties, disabled people, older people, BAME communities, and people from poorer neighbourhoods and rural communities, as we develop and embed the use of online platforms it is important that we do not increase the digital divide or worsen health inequalities, this can be achieved by removing bias from our design process, improving user experience and adopting inclusive practices.

The CCG will host a number of presenters from the NHS, private sector and the charitable sector.
