Event description
Co-artistic Director of Clod Ensemble Paul Clark in conversation with award winning composer, Isobel Waller-Bridge

About this event

Increasingly people who write music think in terms of controlling noise and shaping sounds rather than just notes on a page. Join Isobel Waller Bridge in conversation with Paul Clark as they discuss how resisting prioritising melody has affected contemporary electronica.

This event will take place on zoom and will be live-captioned.

Accessibility: All live events will be wheelchair accessible and all online events will be live captioned. If you have accessibility requirements (eg. BSL interpretation) that you would like us to be aware of then please email boxoffice@clodensemble.com and we will do our best to help.

Isobel Waller-Bridge is an award-winning composer at the forefront of a new wave of emerging artists in film, television and theatre. Her soundtracks include Vanity Fair (ITV & Amazon), Vita & Virginia (Protagonist Pictures), The Split (BBC One), Fleabag (BBC & Amazon), Woyzeck (Old Vic), Knives in Hens (Donmar Warehouse).

Isobel has created dramatic original scores for feature films, television drama, and narrative-driven entertainment. Lauded for her trademark electronic sound worlds and scoring sweeping melodies for large-scale orchestra.

She has received a number of prestigious awards, including Best Composer at Underwire Film Festival and winner of Best Sound Designer at Off West End Theatre Awards, and has been performed across Europe, the USA and the UK in London’s Royal Albert Hall, The Barbican and the Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh. For her work in theatre, Isobel has written original music for productions in the West End to New York, in addition to the Royal Shakespeare Company, The Royal National Theatre, The Old Vic, Royal Exchange Theatre, The Young Vic and many more.

Organizer Clod Ensemble

Organizer of Listening Party: Isobel Waller-Bridge on music without tunes

For over two decades, director Suzy Willson and composer Paul Clark have developed a highly original performance language, creating provocative, finely crafted work, ambitious in scale and concept.

Clod Ensemble works at the intersection of different forms and disciplines – at the point where they meet, transform and challenge each other to become something new.

We work with dancers, actors, musicians, medics, architects and orchestras.

Our work is presented in London, across the UK and internationally in theatres, dance houses, galleries and public spaces including Sadler’s Wells, Tate Modern, The Lowry Salford, Wales Millennium Centre, Serralves Museum Porto and Public Theater New York.
