We explore classic and contemporary music from Pakistan, as part of Birmingham's inaugural Spirit of Pakistan festival which will celebrate Pakistani arts, culture and heritage across the city

Soul City Arts welcomes this special edition of Listensing Sessions to Port Hope in collaboration with Primrose Avenue Sound System.

Primrose Avenue Sound System is a Birmingham‑based collective and sound system known for hosting listening sessions inspired by David Mancuso’s Loft in New York. They curate intimate audio events, focusing on high-end playback and communal listening, similar to the Loft ethos of high-fidelity social gatherings.

Primrose Avenue offers a return to intentional listening, where sound quality and community interaction take centre stage.

Frequently asked questions

Will there be food?

Yes, a selection of traditional food will be available as well as soft drinks, teas and coffee.

Are seats allocated?

No, this is a very relaxed event with a choice of seating including comfy sofas. Get here early to get the sofas as they are popular!

Can I bring my kids?

Yes, this is an event for all ages. The concept of the Listening Sessions is to listen to music without the interruptions of modern life, and we want the next generation to be able to hear and enjoy the music too. We would encourage you to try and have children listen quietly.

Will there be parking?

We are situated on an industrial estate. Whilst we have parking, it is limited. However, from experience with previous events, we have not struggled to accommodate everyone's vehicles.
