This event is for working with women or girls in Sunderland.
The purpose is to bring together organisations working with or supporting women and girls in Sunderland to host a facilitated conversation about funding priorities for needs led and inclusive women’s services.
Two previous events have been held on 24th May and 3rd July 2018 and we will be breifly sharing the outcomes of the last event on 17th September. At this third event, we will be exploring:
- The purposes and structure of Listening to Women's Voices moving forwards
- Shaping and planning and event to influence commissioner on the value and need for women focussed services in Sunderlanbd

Sangini (a friend in Hindi) is a minority led women’s health organisation. It was set up in 2002 by a group of women who identified a gap in the area of health and looked for ways to raise awareness about it. As a multi- cultural organisation, the emphasis was also on promoting arts and cultural activities of diversity. http://www.sangini.org.uk/
Imkaan is a London based Black and ‘Minority Ethnic’ (BME) women’s organisation, the UK’s only national second tier women’s organisation dedicated to addressing violence against BME women and girls. Imkaan delivers a unique package of support which includes: quality assurance; accredited training; peer education; advocacy; research and sustainability support to frontline BME organisations. https://www.imkaan.org.uk/
The Women’s Commissioning Support Unit is Women’s Resource Centre’s three-year pilot project to develop the strategic and delivery capacity of the women’s voluntary sector. Women’s Aid are a federation of over 180 organisations who provide more than 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across the country. We provide expert training, qualifications and consultancy to a range of agencies and professionals working with survivors or commissioning domestic abuse services, and award a National Quality Mark for services which meet our quality standards. We hold the largest national data set on domestic abuse, and use research and evidence to inform all of our work.
