Event description

Description

Listening is one of the most important skills a communicator possesses. And yet, as a skill it is rarely talked about despite the fact that change and uncertainty increase the need for us all to improve our ability to listen.

This workshop will help people delve into how they can improve this skill, both for themselves as individual communications professionals, and for their organisation.

Led by current IABC UK President, Howard Krais, last year’s president Mike Pounsford and founder of the PR Academy Dr Kevin Ruck the session will help attendees understand:

  • what does listening really mean - for individuals and for organisations

  • why listening is a crucial tool for the communicator and is key to transformation

  • tips, tools, reflections and ideas to improve listening, and insights to generate change

The session will also share the results of some initial research carried out into listening earlier this year.

This workshop was originally run at the IABC EMENA Conference in Bahrain where it received very positive feedback in February 2019 and we will share some of the insights and lessons from that session as well as we bring it back to London.
