Event description

Description

This session is suitable for anyone who wants to inspire children to write in a creative and interactive way outdoors. The methods can be used for Reception - Year 6.

Discover the delights of exploring the outdoors with new eyes. Allow Margaret to lead your imagination to new places creating new worlds and interesting characters. She will use a range of drama techniques to help you to work with a partner to make your ideas a reality.

After the practical session you will learn how to develop this into a series of lessons which can culminate with a published book of stories.

Trainers - Magaret and Colette

Margaret is a storyteller and author who has worked for over 20 years in schools in the UK and abroad. Her storytelling inspires children both to tell stories and write their own. She has also worked teaching adults how to tell stories and plan inspiring writing sessions for children. She has a range of published books ranging from books for pre-school children to adventure stories for older children.

Colette has been head teacher at Christ Church for 10 years and prior to that has taught in London for over 20 years. An important part of her work at Christ Church has been developing learning outside the classroom and inspiring others to do the same. The outdoors is used as inspiration for learning across a range of subjects at Christ Church.
