Literacy Professional Skills Test Workshop (Evening)
Mon 22 May 2017, 17:30 – 20:30 BST
Make sure you are ready to pass the professional skills test with support from the Trinity Teaching School Alliance
Passing the professional skills test is a requirement for all School Direct trainees, who must successfully complete this before commencing the programme. It is sometimes an understandably daunting prospect for our trainees, particularly when it may have been a number of years since they last sat tests or exams.
With a limited number of attempts at the test before training places are withdrawn, it is absolutely crucial to be prepared to pass so that you can commence the School Direct programme and train to teach from September 2017.
We are pleased to offer current and potential applicants a choice of numeracy and literacy based training sessions, specifically designed to help you to prepare for the tests. You can book for one or both strands of training, depending upon your needs.
Each three hour long session focuses on key aspects of the tests, and the subject knowledge that you will require to successfully pass the test. The small groups and outstanding workshop leaders means that you can access bespoke, hands-on support if you struggle with particular aspects that are covered by the tests.
The workshop will look at the test content, and the skills and knowledge required for each. The sessions are also useful preparation for your teaching career as a core element of the tests is ensuring that teachers have the numeracy and literacy skills that they will use regularly in the classroom.
The session is priced at £40, although this is refundable should you apply to train to teach with the alliance as first choice provider and accept a place (should one be offered).
Those already on the TTSAs School Direct programme will be automatically invited to attend as part of the interview and acceptance process.
