The texts to be discussed are: On the Road - Jack Kerouac. Stoner - John Williams. Beloved - Toni Morrison. Selected Poems of Joy Harjo. The Year of Magical Thinking - Joan Didion. The course will explore the origins and context of each text and relate these elements to the socio-cultural conditions of the times.
