Toddlers can explore architecture and the built environment through sensory play, crafts and stories.
Little Builders is the Farrell Centre’s EYFS programme for pre-school children, toddlers, and their carers. Taking place on the first Friday of the month, activities will include sensory play, arts and crafts and story time. Suitable for 7+ months/crawling stage upwards.
Enjoy a free morning of play with blocks, sensory toys and architecture books. Activities will include building towers and dens, designing green spaces and fun games to introduce ideas such as sculpture and town planning. Dip into our selection of children’s books to further explore shape, materials, maps and cities.
Little Builders is led by a member of the Farrell Centre team, but there is lots of opportunity for free play and exploration.
Friday 3 October – Gardens and Green Space
This month we’ll focus green spaces, and how humans and animals interact with biodiverse landscapes. Little ones can explore sensory prompts, from grassy ground to smooth tree trunks. We will then design our own birdboxes as we explore architecture for nature. We’ll finish the session with a story about urban gardens.
This session is inspired by our display, Spaces for Nature.
