Event description

Description

In a diocese where we seek to grow the number of fresh expressions of church to equal the numbers of inherited church by 2030, liturgical resources (and regulations) are an increasing issue. Sacramental worship poses an especially important set of challenges as we seek to maintain the unity of our communion and church order! In his book, Beyond Common Worship, Mark Earey explores the important questions being raised in practice here.

This day conference will appeal to pioneers, clergy and church leaders seeking to grow fresh expressions of church where baptisms and Holy Communion form part of the worship or where keeping strong moorings with the wider church needs attention.

Mark Earey has been the Director of Anglican Formation and Tutor in Liturgy and Worship at Queens Birmingham since 2007.

The day includes lunch, if you have any dietary requirements, please state when booking.

Location and Parking

St Martins House is in central Leicester. We are a two minute walk from several local car parks and a wide range of hotels (there is a council operated car park for blue badge holders on the neighbouring street to St Martins House). It’s about 10-15 mins off J21 of the M1. The train station is about a 10-15 min walk, East Midlands and Birmingham airports are both about 45 minute drives and have good rail links, and the bus terminus is about 10 minutes walk away. To receive details of parking and local hotels, or with any other questions contact beth.marvin@leccofe.org or 0116 261 5338.
