We would like to invite you to join us at a research gathering at National Theatre Scotland for people who work with Live Art based in Scotland. This is one of a series of research events taking place across the UK for those involved with making, supporting, producing, curating, experiencing, teaching and thinking about Live Art in the UK/ Live Art. This regional gathering is a small facilitated discussion, focusing on how you perceive, work within and beyond the sector and your visions, impressions and aspirations for the future development of Live Art in the UK.

This research project is the first major mapping of the impact and influence of Live Art in the UK. We aim to demonstrate and evidence the sector’s complexity, diversity and achievements. Our research activities include interviews, focus groups and audience engagement activities to take place in different regions across the UK, to involve a broad range of professionals involved with Live Art. As part of this research project we will also be conducting an online survey of how artists, organisers and audiences participate in Live Art. The survey will form an important part of the research, collecting data and perspectives with a view to providing a snapshot of the sector that artists, programmers, researchers and funders can use. We will be launching the survey in the coming week and would like to share it with you at the gathering.

It’s important that this research includes the voices of independent artists/arts workers on low incomes. We have a small budget to support attendance where costs would be a barrier.
