Please join The Band of The Royal Yeomanry (Inns of Court & City Yeomanry) for a free early evening of professional quality concert band music.
The concert will start at 6pm on Tuesday 5th July 2022 outside the famous London Guildhall, this is not a ticketed event, (no need to book). Pull up a chair to relax and enjoy a traditional Military Band music. (chairs are provided)
The programme will include a variety of classic military band music, both old and new.
The Band of The Royal Yeomanry (Inns of Court & City Yeomanry) is a professional symphonic military wind band, based in central London. It's Director of Music is Major David Hammond PhD FRSM FLCM FTCL.
The Band of The Royal Yeomanry (Inns of Court & City Yeomanry) is one of the oldest and finest in the Army Reserve.
Formed in 1961 from the amalgamation of the Inns of Court Regiment and The City of London Yeomanry, the band can trace its regimental history back to 1548 with the rising of The Inns of Court Regiment (The Regiment of Lawyers) as an association of volunteers to assit in the defence of the country against the threatered Spanish invasion. It was first commanded by Sir Thomas Egeton who was later to become Lord Chancellor of England.
The band is part of the British Army Reserve and rehearses near Liverpool Street station on Wednesday nights (1930 to 2130). If you are an experienced musician and wish to make music while being paid in a professional Army Reserve band, then please contact us on 020 7426 8364 and Ry-band@mod.gov.uk
