Live author event with Bernard Cornwell
Event Information
About this Event
Bernard Cornwell, OBE is a British author of historical fiction, bringing to life such tales as the Holy Grail, Saxon invasions and Napoleonic wars. While his works are diverse they are consistently popular, making him one of Britain’s best loved writers.
His globally well-known series, The Last Kingdom, follows the epic Saxon invasion of England. War Lord came out late last year and is the thirteenth and final book in the series. The Last Kingdom also became a popular Netflix show of the same name, which has gained a huge following.
Bernard’s novels are grounded in historical fact, but even history alluded to dragons, magic and powerful beings. He expertly builds his characters with their fears and beliefs of the supernatural - fitting to prescientific Britain - to create truly believable and immersive tales.
Before the Saxon series, Bernard wrote the Sharpe series that has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. Sharpe’s Assassin is set to release this year and will be a continuation of these tales, following Richard Sharpe in his journey through the British Army during the Napoleonic wars.
Sharpe’s Assassin is set to be released September 2021.
