Global Soul X Cross The Tracks

Cross The Tracks

A day festival is heading into a successful fifth year after selling out three years running. It attracts the very best artists and collectives globally, across jazz, funk, soul, hiphop, electronica and world music. A festival centred on community, culture, family, flavour, history and creating a space for emerging artists as well as heritage legends, boasting 9 vibrant music stages for 30,000 people!

DRE Six

Dresix is an emerging singer songwriter from east London using R&B/folk style guitar instrumentals. His soft and beautiful vocals with catchy melodies is what you might hear on rap or drill songs thus creating the perfect juxtaposition for him which works so well.

Tia Gordon

Singer-songwriter from Kent who’s been singing since the age of 4. She began writing and producing her own songs and secretly putting them on soundcloud to positive reactions, giving her the confidence to continue making original content.

She finally decided to put her name out there in 2019 and released her debut single ‘Call
Me’ (prod. Mom Tudie) in 2022 with support from tastemakers like Abbie McCarthy,
DJ Target, Victoria Jane, Rickie & Melvin amongst others. It was Abbie McCarthy’s
‘Introducing Track of the Week’ and Spotify made her the cover of their UK ‘Fresh Finds’ playlist.

Her second single ‘Price You Pay’ also produced by Mom Tudie was equally well received resulting in Tia being invited to apply for the 2022 BBC Introducing Live Lounge competition finishing as runner up among hundreds of other applicants.

In that same year Mahalia invited Tia to perform at the sold out Christmas edition of her ‘Mahalia Presents’ series, the biggest one yet at Lafayette.

In 2023 she released a further 2 singles ‘Cold Showers’ & ‘On My Mind’ produced by Mom Tudie and Jay Lewn respectively. The latter came with a stunning music video directed by Anna Peterson, shot entirely on 8mm film. It reached No 1 in the Global Soul Chart and subsequently she performed at her first Global Soul Showcase.

Later that year she was invited to perform at Roundhouse Rising x BBC Introducing Live.

In 2024 her first single 'A Little Love For Myself' also featured in the Global Soul Chart top 20 so we are delighted to have her back at a Global Soul event.

Stacy N.K.R

A rapper from South East London who has been exploring her sound since the first lockdown of 2020. She made waves with her first single SE17 which dropped in 2022 and since then has been building a following of people interested in the story she has to tell.

Since 2023 Stacy has been working with non-profit label and studio ROOT 73, honing her craft and developing her sound, taking influence from hip-hop, neo-soul, grime and jazz. In the studio with creative collaborator and producer Alfie Rudman, she combines melodic hooks with laid back verses, providing a breath of the London lifestyle through a unique lane which she is beginning to carve for herself.

Jessy Blakemore

An emerging talent gaining recognition as a versatile and captivating artist. Born in 2000 in Reading, to Zimbabwean and British parents, her style has been playfully dubbed as "hood folk”. Her music is a blend of soulful lyrics and mesmerising guitar melodies, striking a chord with a wide range of audiences. Jessy is a storyteller whose songs resonate with the narratives of a generation. Now signed to influential Sony imprint Black Butter and managed by Don’t Sleep Jessy is gearing up to release her debut music in Spring 2024.

Already building significant critical acclaim before even releasing any music. See this rising star first!
