About this event
Rachael Dadd - 3pm
Our afternoon show will be the chilled vibes of Rachel Dadd’s lo-fi future folk. Come and cosy up for a soothing session in the afternoon autumn sun.
Living half her time as a traveling musician in Japan, witnessing how other people create things, connecting with other cultures and landscapes; all this is a furnace for innovative songwriting. Rachel has been gaining a reputation as a pioneering and thought provoking artist unafraid to push the boundaries of folk and pop. Her latest album, Flux is a response to external and internal tides: the flow of life up-rooted; a protest against the flow of recent political history; a diary of the flow within the intimate space of home. Collaborators include multi-instrumentalist Emma Gatrill (Willie Mason / Matthew and the Atlas), drummer Rob Pemberton (Emily Barker / Low Chimes), bassist Jim Barr (Portishead) and vocalists Kate Stables and Rozi Plain (This is The Kit).
Practical Information
We will have comprehensive measures in place to ensure that audience, artists and staff are safe from the spread of coronavirus. Ticket holders will receive full information prior to the event and be asked to comply with safety procedures when attending.
Seating will be socially distanced and allocated in booking groups. Please book your tickets in household/bubble groups (no larger than 6 people per group.)
Performances will last an hour with no interval. Please note, these are two separate events. Due to covid restrictions, we cannot offer audiences anywhere to wait between events, so ticket holders for both will be asked to leave and return.
Toilet facilities are available on site. The event is outside, so please wrap up warm.
Access
Please note, it is a 20 min walk along the tarmac road from the car park to the Chalet, where the performance will take place, so please bear this in mind when you plan your timings.
The Wytham Woods main car park is accessed through Wytham Village. At the village, take the turning immediately beside the White Hart, then turn left. The car park is at the top of the hill.
For those who are less mobile, it will be possible to drive all the way to the Chalet, where you may park alongside the edge of the road. Please let us know when booking if you will need vehicle access to the Chalet.
The audience seating is on grassy/earthy ground - we will do our best to facilitate wheelchair access, please let us know your needs when booking.
Tickets
For this event, we are using a new ticket pricing system. Instead of basing our prices on your age or employment status, we are asking audiences to select a ticket price based on what you can afford to spend.
If you cannot attend due to displaying COVID-19 symptoms, we will transfer your ticket to a digital ticket so that you can watch online from home and refund you the difference in price.
