Live Lesson: Games Design Competition with 2DIY3D
Overview
In this live lesson we explore how to use the tool 2DIY3D to create exciting 3D games in preparation for the Games Deign Competition.
This lesson will be live and aimed at 9-11 year olds. It will be 60 minutes long.
The Games Design Competition is open to a team of up to 6 children from your school but you can bring as many pupils/students as you like to this online lesson. They will need access to a device (which could be one between 2) connected to the internet and logged into Purple Mash.
Can’t join live? Register and use the replay with your class instead.
You’ll need:
- The ability to show the live stream on your big class screen
- A device for each student to use - laptop / desktop / iPad with a working microphone
- Purple Mash accounts for students

This live lesson will include:
- Launching the Games Design Competition to children
- Considering the planning stages required to create a great game to meet a brief
- Exploring the exciting new features of 2DIY3D e.g. doors, switches and hotspots
- Learning how to program new objects that could be included
