We welcome the multi-talented Mister Keith to the Magic Lantern

About this Event

The effervescent originator of Victorian Pop, Mister Keith returns to Temperance in March halfway through his Winter Tour, after appearing as Special Guest at Stylusboy’s Autumn show in November.

Following the release of his critically acclaimed debut album, Mister Keith, (songwriter Keith Ayling) has recently released a slew of new singles also recorded with long-time producer Dave Lynch (Duke Special, Luke Sital Singh, Jake Bugg, TopLoader) which too are garnering widespread praise.

Mister Keith has been forging his own unique brand of uniquely crafted songwriting for a number of years that have included several tours of seven counties, a headline residency at the Eroica Britannia Festival and appearances at the highly regarded Saltaire Arts Festival and Melbourne Arts Festival. His show is a beautiful combination of soul-searching song and story described by R2 Magazine as ‘“Poppy and accessible in its acoustic finery” and by editor Tony Cummings as ““An ambitiously conceived, beautifully executed set of timeless songs and arrangements. In every way a class package. 10/10”

The audience find themselves transported yet fully engaged in every part of the songs; singing like a choir and performing alongside Mister Keith as he constructs a show that reaches the soul and the heart.

Keith Ayling has written and released 14 albums in a 33 year career that has seen him play to sell-out crowds at Brixton Academy and London’s Forum as well as Birmingham’s NEC. He has supported and played alongside the likes of Martyn Joseph, Midnight Oil, The DumDums and Mutemath and was recently a TEDx speaker in Leamington on ‘The power of songwriting’.

“Lovely, melancholic, complex chemistry to the track Keith, MORE!” Luke Concannon, Nizlopi

“Poppy and accessible in its acoustic finery, this is an eminently listenable record.” R2 Magazine ****

We are expecting this show to sell out so book early! Tickets are £7 from the cafe or via this link.
