Live-Stream and Debate: First-ever EU Presidential Debate
Monday, 28 April 2014 from 17:30 to 19:30 (BST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Deadline for submission of questions 6 April 2014
From 22 to 25 May 2014, European citizens will head to the polls to elect a new European Parliament. These elections are expected to be different, not least because several European parties will put forward their candidates for the presidency of the European Commission.
In this context, the Maastricht Centre for European Governance at Maastricht University, in cooperation with the municipality of Maastricht and the European Youth Forum (EYF) has invited candidates for the Commission Presidency for a panel debate held in Theatre at the Vrijthof, Maastricht, on 28 April, at 19:00h-20:30h (local time).
As this debate will be live-streamed all over Europe, the UCL European Institute and the UCL School of Public Policy invite you to join us in following the debate – and then debate the debate –on the UCL Campus. The broadcast will be introduced by UCL staff and followed by open discussion and a reception.
Call for student Questions: Interested in having the presidential candidates answer your queries?
The organisers are inviting young Europeans to send in questions on relevant themes, a selection of which will then be put to the candidates. If you are interested, fill out this form and send it to: email@example.com by Sunday 6 April.
