This commission with visual artist Verity-Jane Keefe revisits the estate’s original architectural qualities and their more recent adaptions. New work is presented alongside objects from RIBA’s Collections.
Co-curated by RIBA and Create London and supported by National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Please be aware that this is the booking page for the exhibition, Lived in Architecture - Becontree Estate at 100. We are also currently exhibiting a complimentary photography display of Becontree, The Tree of a Man Named Beohha - Becontree Now by Kalpesh Lathigra.
Upstairs in the First Floor Gallery, this new photography display offers a comparative study of present-day Becontree. Drawing attention to the built volumes and the undefined spaces in between, Lathigra's images reflect on the natural order of architecture and the Estate’s relationship to the previous landscape.
