Lived perspectives on mental health and wellbeing

The best way to learn more about mental health is to talk about it.

Join our panel of four speakers sharing unique lived experiences and strategies for dealing with different aspects of mental health.

This event offers you the opportunity to increase your awareness and discover some of the support available to you and members of your organisation

Speakers: Katerini Spathis, Chris Delaney, Phil Nash and Danny Riley

Katerini: decided in 2014 to do more with her life after spending years learning how to control the effects of having bipolar disorder. First by joining Bolton speaking club and gaining the confidence to engage an audience, make them laugh and at times cry. In 2015 she won her first ever speaking competition.

Second by volunteering at a mental health charity in Bolton and has served as their in-house speaker for over a year, telling her story of living with bipolar.

Chris: is a qualified NLP life coach, hypnotherapist and career advisor with over 15 years’ experience supporting people to achieve their life and career goals.

His clients learn to evolve their mind and increase confidence, feeling in control of fear, anxiety, and low self-worth.

Phil: is a HRM Masters graduate with a passion for mental health issues who facilitates the monthly Manchester Bipolar UK Self Help Group. He has experience running social media and networking workshops for HRM Students and professionals.

Danny:  is a speaker coach, Higher Apprentice and an entrepreneur who has spent the last ten years recovering from severe mental health problems, and teaching others how to do the same.

Developing his natural speaking style has led to winning awards, gaining two promotions, getting married, and to earning a Barclays Plc. Scholarship to study a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Management: all in the same year.

He is the President of the Manchester Orators Toastmasters Club, and runs workshops for beginner speakers through the company he co-founded: Project Charisma.
