About this Event

Jen Campbell is a bestselling author and award-winning poet. Her books include the short story collection The Beginning of the World in the Middle of the Night, the poetry collection The Girl Aquarium, and a series of children's books about a book-loving dragon called Franklin. Jen worked as a bookseller for ten years, has written several non-fiction books about bookshops, and now runs a Youtube channel where she talks about reading, the history of fairy tales and the representation of disfigurement in the media.

Jen will be talking to KS4/5 pupils about representation of disability, disfigurement and LGBT+ in fairytales.

Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading is bringing a wide range of author events to schools across the city. Each school is invited to bring up to 30 pupils to a session. Booking for schools in the nearby locality of the venues will be open until Friday 26th April. After this date, any remaining places will be offered out to all schools.

Please enter the number of pupils (maximum 30) you plan to bring on the booking form. You do not need to include adult numbers.

Within a few weeks of receiving your booking, we will send you a confirmation pack featuring details of your session, learning resources, activity ideas and a risk assessment.
