Liverpool Encounter Group - May

Liverpool Encounter Group holds a monthly encounter. Each session is its own entity and we welcome people to come to as many or as few sessions as they choose. The space, therefore, is regular, but each group and its process is unique.

What is encounter?

Encounter offers individuals a space in which they are invited to connect more deeply with their emotions and to share these within the group. Encounter is about connection with self and connection with others. Within encounter groups, a person may be able to be more present, or 'in the moment'. They may then share this here-and-now experiencing with the group, if they wish. This encounter group is open to counsellors, counsellors in training and anyone who is curious, excited, and comforted by the person-centred approach.

Due to the nature of encounter, heightened emotions may be present within the group. For anyone experiencing significant mental or emotional health issues, it may be worth considering if this is the right space for yourself at this time. Please be aware that this is not a support group or group therapy.

At this encounter, there will be no designated facilitator; this encounter will be a group process and therefore facilitated by the group as a whole. Confidentiality is something that we ask of participants of this group, however, as this can never be wholly guaranteed, we ask each individual to take responsibility for their own sharing within the group.

Tickets

Tickets are priced at £5 to cover the cost of the room, no single person will be profiting from the collection of ticket sales. If ticket sales surpass the room hire fee, the surplus will be carried over to contribute towards future groups. This event will not exclude those who are unable to contribute monetarily. If you are unable to pay the full ticket price, please choose your own fee or take a ticket for free.

Minimum no. of participants: 10

If we we do not have enough people signing up to this encounter, i.e to cover the cost of the room hire, the date will be rescheduled and ticket sales will be refunded in full.

In the event of this encounter being cancelled due to other reasons, full refunds will be given.
