Description

The Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner launched his new Police and Crime Plan (2018-21) on April 1st of this year and, as promised, he intends to prioritise tackling knife crime. As the foreword in his new Police and Crime Plan says:

"There is more work to be done to deter and stem a growing trend of young people carrying knives and that's why I will be working closely with partners to develop a joint 'Lives Not Knives' project".

Why attend?

  • Find out about the current situation in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

  • Insights from those directly impacted by knife crime, Nottinghamshire Police, Youth Justice, Red Thread

  • Outline of the draft 4 tier Knife Crime Strategy

  • Discussion about how we can work together to prevent knife crime

Who is it for?

The Commissioner has already provided funding to enable the Force to appoint a 'Knife Crime Strategy Manager' to improve joint working and mainstream the knife crime team. At the conference he will announce further funding awarded to commmunity groups who have applied to help tackle knife crime.

The intention of this conference is to bring police, partners and the third sector together to consider how best to tackle the issues. The feedback will be used to shape the final knife crime strategy.
