Description

Walk in Chelmsford to haunts and grave of Joseph Freeman, an escaped slave from the USA in 1861, who settled, worked, married and had children in Chelmsford. A talk about his life. Then a book group discussion of ‘The Life of Olaudah Equiano’ (aka GustavusVasa), an Ibo abducted from Eastern Nigeria, transported and sold into slavery, who bought his freedom, married and had children in England, and became a prominent campaigner against slavery and the trade.
