Description

Living Archive: Performance after Apartheid

Can healing work be channelled through artistic articulations of intimacy? In the context of post-apartheid South Africa, JAY PATHER (choreographer) and OLUREMI C. ONABANJO (curator) discuss the work of memory in the wake of historical trauma, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and its shortcomings, and the persistent, vulnerable body in the public sphere.

Presented in partnership with ICI (Independent Curators International)

This event is part of FORUM, 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair's programme of talks, performances and screenings. Entry to the talks is free for all ticket holders of 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair. Further information on how to purchase tickets for the fair here.
