Living Better with Pain: a mindfulness workshop, November 2016
A collaboration between Mindfulness trainer Vicki Worsley, Mindful Space and Physiotherapist and Pain consultant Clare Rayner, Glamorgan and Gwent Physiotherapy.
Develop your own toolkit to help you manage your pain better and live a fuller life. This workshop draws together the insights of contemporary scientific research with the valuable practices of mindfulness training. It’s possible to live with pain and to live well.

Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is aimed at anyone who lives with pain. This includes migraine, back pain, arthritic conditions, IBS, coeliac disease, fibromyalgia and other pain conditions.
Clare Rayner BSc (Hons) MCSP has been a chartered physiotherapist for over 15 years and has worked for the NHS and in the private sector. Clare has extensive experience in pain management. She was manager and clinical lead for a chronic pain rehabilitation unit in Bury St Edmunds before moving to Cardiff four years ago. She established Glamorgan and Gwent Physiotherapy in 2012 which has clinics in Cardiff and Newport treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions.
Vicki Worsley is a mindfulness trainer and founder of Mindful Space. She is also a trained teacher, counsellor and has meditated for over 20 years. Vicki trained in mindfulness with Jon Kabat-Zinn (USA), Thich Nhat Hanh (France) and at Bangor University Centre for Mindfulness. She has an MA in Buddhist Studies from Bristol University.
The workshop will include input on the most recent research into pain and pain management, discussion and experiential mindfulness activities.
We will have a break half-way through the workshop. Drinks and snacks are available at the Hazel Court café.
A central part of the learning on this workshop will take place between students, in the group. For this learning to take place it is essential that the group environment is comfortable, friendly and supportive. We see it as a key part of our role to facilitate this environment.
We encourage you to wear loose, comfortable clothing – not jeans or anything tight around the waist.

What is the refund policy?
You can cancel your registration up to the day before the workshop. There is a cancellation fee of 40%.
Is my registration transferrable?
It's not possible to transfer this registration to another course/event. You will need to cancel this booking and then rebook on the new course/event.
