About this event

The retreat runs from Friday 23rd October at 7.00 pm to Sunday 25th October at 4.00 pm. The retreat is suitable for those with an established understanding of mindfulness and with a regular practice. This is an online event using the Zoom application; attendees will be sent joining instructions after they register.

This retreat is available for a donation (dana) of whatever you feel appropriate (minimum £1). In this case all dana will be donated directly to Plum Village monastics as they are in need of financial assistance due to the COVID lockdown. If you wish to register for the retreat, please click on the "Register" button.

If you wish to be notified of further retreats, organised by the Dharma Training Programme, please click on the "Follow" button. You will be prompted to create an Eventbrite account in order to send you notifications .

This is the third of a series of three Dharma Training retreats exploring the relevance of the Six Perfections (Paramitas) to our everyday life. We will explore the the practice of meditation (‘Dhyana’) and inclusiveness (‘Kshanti’). Practitioners may join these retreats on a one-off basis, but are encouraged to attend two or all three, if possible, to explore different aspects of the practice.

The retreat will include:-

- Opportunities to practice guided and silent meditations

- Opportunities to learn from others through dharma sharing and exploration;

- Dharma teaching from UK Dharma Teachers.

On this retreat we will practice both guided and silent sitting meditation, and indoor walking meditation. The schedule will include the invitation to practice outdoor walking meditation, mindful meals and noble silence in-between our online sessions. Set texts for reflection may be shared with you before the retreat.

This in-depth retreat will be led by UK Dharma Teachers Theresa Payne and Lesley Collington and will allow us to explore ways in which we can bring being inclusive and practising meditation into our daily lives.

The retreat is being organised by the Community of Interbeing. We are a growing network of people in the UK who practice mindfulness and aspire to develop peace and happiness in ourselves and in the world by living according to the teachings on global ethics of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. His teachings, which can be followed by people of all ages and any religion or none, are notable for their emphasis on joy, engagement in the world, and integrating the practice of mindfulness into daily life. We are a registered educational charity which offers a programme of courses, retreats and events and encourages and supports local groups that meet to practice mindfulness.

We ask anyone coming on our Dharma Training Programme retreats to become a member of the Community of Interbeing by accessing the national website https://www.plumvillage.uk/join-us/
