Are you an aspiring artist, writer or digital creator aged 12–17?

If so, here’s your chance to step into Lincoln Usher Gallery and see history in a new light.

This workshop is a chance to explore the gallery as a living archive, a place where your voice and creativity can shape the stories we tell today. Taking inspiration from Charmaine Watkiss’ powerful work Oracle of Our Forebears, which explores ancestry, healing, and African-Caribbean traditions.

You’ll be invited to choose a piece from the collection that speaks to you. Then, through your own chosen medium (painting, drawing, writing, film, or digital media), you’ll create a response that adds your perspective to the ongoing story of the gallery. Be part of history.

Experiment, express yourself, and leave your mark.

This workshop is part of a wider heritage project, Reimagining Lincolnshire. Reimagining Lincolnshire is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to deliver this heritage project, in conjunction with The University of Lincoln, exploring the rich, diverse and often untold social histories of Lincolnshire.
