Event description

Description

Living in Limbo is how our EU friends and neighbours have described their present situation living here post the referendum where people narrowly voted in favour of the UK leaving the EU. Since this vote nearly 4 million people are facing huge levels of uncertainty about what will happen to them and their families. The UK government's stance in refusing to confirm the status of EU citizens living in the UK and UK citizens living on the continent is an unprecedented situation, This is surely inhumane, a cruel and unusual punishment for which there has been no crime! Come and listen to the voices not heard in the mass media – and focus on the human and psychological costs of Brexit. Elena Remigi, one of the editors of 'In Limbo', and Kate Springford, a Lewes psychotherapist, will be giving us their insights into the impact on people of the Brexit process and there will be readings of moving testimonies from the recently published book 'In Limbo' (2017).
