Abbott hall has a 3 hour stay car park attached to the community center, there is also free all day night parking for early birds on Kendal New road, be sure to get up early or arrive late to bag your place for the weekend. The train brings you right in to the heart of Kendal a 20 min walk from the venue. Bus links are also great check out the online local bus times for bus and train information.
Kendal is 8 miles from Windermere lake.
There are lots of local restaurants and accommodation & Cafes in Kendal & the surrounding areas. Campsites for those wishing to have some wild time, hotels, B&B'S, Brewery arts center YHA is a 3 minute walk from the venue. Search Air B&B for ideas and Also it would be nice to try, if possible to book direct with local businesses so they don't loose out to big firms like booking.com etc.
Kendal is a beautiful historical town boasting a fabulous Castle, which the venue over looks (25 minute walk to the castle from the venue), we are in the beautiful Abbott hall center, over looking Abbott hall park. Which backs on to the river Kent where you can see our 4 local Otters, king fishers, Goosander among other abundant wonderful wild life.
We are right next door to the Abbott Hall art Gallery and Cafe, Union Jack cafe, Fat Cat cafe, Brewery arts center cinema and theater, The Moon Restaurant all with in a 5 minute walk.
There are lots of beautiful walks both in and out of town a personal favorite is Scouts Scar, Serpentine woods & Cunswick scar to name but a few all with in a 5-10 minute drive. For those seeing to make more than a weekend please get in touch I can point you in the direction of rest and relaxation, action & adventure.
