Join us for 'Living Well As You Get Older' – hosted by the ILD, the RIX Centre, PurpleSTARS and British Society of Gerontology, a hybrid knowledge exchange event tailored for healthcare professionals, academics as well individuals with learning disabilities.

This event will explore the lived experience of people with learning disabilities within a healthcare context, providing insightful perspectives from service users as well as healthcare experts and practicitioners

The aims of this event:

  • To provide information about routine health care check-ups and what to expect from them
  • To exchange on the experiences of routine health visit as experienced by people with learning disabilities
  • Suggestions on improvements to communication between primary care to people with learning disabilities
  • Tips on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle in regard to food and exercise
  • To network between professionals and persons with learning disabilities
  • To foster greater inclusion in our healthcare systems through dialogue and exchange.

Presentations will be followed by an engaging Q&A session with all speakers, followed by closing remarks and networking opportunities over lunch.
