Description

Living Well with a long-term condition

This course is intended for anyone living with a long-term condition. A long-term condition is defined as that which will last for a year or longer. There may be no cure for the condition. Medication may be prescribed to halt the progression of the condition, eg high blood pressure, or may be taken every day as an essential for continued life, eg insulin or thyroxine. In Scotland there are increasing numbers of people living with multiple long-term conditions. These co-morbidities may conflict with each other as medications essential for one condition may interfere or adversely affect another condition. Each condition can present different symptoms. Learning to identify these symptoms and effects of medication on your condition(s) are key aspects learning to live well with your condition.
