Event description
A virtual learning workshop for professionals working with children and young people from West Sussex Mind.

About this Event

Living with Self-Harm (for professionals)

Never been to a virtual learning event? It is like an on-line workshop where you can see the trainer, other attendees, you can type questions, draw on whiteboards, meet with others in break out rooms and see a whole host of visual and written resources.

About the course

Please note this course is for professionals working with or supporting children and young people. It is not suitable for parents/carers.

In this interactive online workshop we will discuss self-harm from a young person’s perspective, drawing from stories, case studies and professional experience.

We will explore some of the reasons why young people self-harm, challenge the myths that surround them, vulnerability factors and why it may be difficult to stop.

We will also identify what works for a young person, exploring strategies and ways forward to get the right help. We will ensure you have the latest information on where you and young people can gain further support to complement your own service.

This session is being facilitated by YMCA Downslink group on behalf of West Sussex Mind.
